Code your Device with Micro:bit

3rd to 5th

The BBC micro:bit is a tiny, powerful computer that you can program to interact with the world around you! For students in grades 3 to 5, Micro:bit is a fun and hands-on way to start learning coding, electronics, and problem-solving.

With just a few clicks, students can use block-based coding (like Scratch) to program the Micro:bit to:

  • Show messages or smiley faces on its LED display

  • Make games using buttons and motion sensors

  • Create simple tools like step counters, timers, or even mini musical instruments

Micro:bit comes with built-in features like:

  • LED grid for displaying images and text

  • Buttons you can program for input

  • Sensors that detect movement, light, and temperature

  • Bluetooth for connecting to other devices

In this course, kids will learn by doing—turning ideas into working devices while exploring how computers “think.” It’s a perfect blend of creativity, logic, and fun, helping young learners build confidence and curiosity in coding and physical computing.
